5 Mindful Gifts for Kids

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!

What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store.

What if Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!

It's easy to get carried away in the midst of Christmas excitement, here are 5 mindful gift ideas for the little darlings in your life.

  1. A magic trip. When a handwritten letter arrives from Santa himself, giving the details of an exciting day trip, it would be hard not to feel the magic! Organise tickets to a show or take a drive, assisted by some festive music to somewhere new. A magic trip can be a low-cost way to make some high-impact memories.

  2. Re-gift a pre-loved item. As mentioned on my other list beautifully wrapping a pre-loved treasure and tying up with a pretty ribbon, allows you to pass on a gift which holds an enchanted story.

  3. Schedule time for play together. Having fun doesn't need to include the latest toys on the market, give life to some forgotten favourites board games. Check out Magpie and Hen for some quirky hidden gems!

  4. A miniature self-sustained world. Check out the many versions of eco-spheres, terrariums and even aquaponic fish tanks which are fully self-contained ecosystems! A wonderful way to educate our little people about life, if they are maintained at the right light and warmth they can live for many years.

  5. Choose conscious clothing. If you are buying some new clothes for the little ones take time and seek out ethically produced items. Spend time explaining to children about the importance of our planet, Orlagh at The Mini Post has some deadly gear.
